Deputy Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs meets with Vice President, Indo-Pacific, Business Council of Canada

On 26 May 2025, Ms. Jaithai Upakarnitikaset, Deputy Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, had a meeting with Mr. Trevor Kennedy, Vice President, Indo-Pacific, Business Council of Canada (BCC), on the occasion of the visit of Team Canada Trade Mission to Thailand during 26-28 May 2025.

Both sides discussed the global economic situation and ways to enhance cooperation. The Thai side expressed readiness to collaborate with the BCC to promote more trade and investment opportunities between the two countries. In addition, both sides discussed potential cooperation in organizing a joint activity on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Canada in 2026.

The BCC is a business organization with its headquarters located in Ottawa, comprising over 170 major Canadian companies, and works to promote and advocate policies that support economic growth, competitiveness, and innovation both domestically and internationally.
