On 12 May 2026, H.E. Dr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered welcoming remarks at the ADB - World Bank Trade Forum 2026 under the theme “Trade Policy in a Fragmented World: Accessions, Industrial Policy, and the New Multilateralism” at the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. The Forum, which took place between 12 - 14 May 2026, was co-organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank Group, in collaboration with IMD Business School and the Institute for Macroeconomic and International Policies (i-MIP) at the Paris School of Economics.
The Chairman of the Advisory Board underscored constructive engagement, resilient and inclusive cooperation, as well as a modernized form of multilateralism aligned with the current global context in addressing the fragmentation of the international trading system. He noted that Thailand employs economic diplomacy under the “3Cs” framework, namely Confidence, Competitiveness, and Collaboration & Partnership, as a guiding approach in engaging with partners to strengthen economic ties, expand investment cooperation, and elevate strategic dialogue. He cited as an example, leading a Thai business delegation to participate in the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2026.
The Chairman of the Advisory Council reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to acceding to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), advancing industrial transformation through technology and innovation, as well as engaging in cooperation frameworks and economic integration initiatives, including the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
