On May 10, 2025, Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Consul-General of Thailand in Chicago; Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, Deputy Consul-General; and Mrs. Suprattana Gamolvej, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Chicago, participated in a “Som Tum (Thai Papaya Salad)” cooking demonstration at the Minnesota Songkran Festival 2025. The activity aimed to promote Thai cuisine by allowing attendees to sample different styles of Som Tum.
 
During the event, the Team Thailand delegation visited several booths showcasing Thai culture, cuisine, and handicrafts. They also participated in the Songkran tradition by sprinkling scented water over Buddha statues. Festival attendees enjoyed a cultural heritage and experienced Thai food, products, services, performing arts, and cultural demonstrations. All these activities received significant attention.
