On 16 February 2026, Ms. Jitvipa Benjasil, Minister attached to the Department of International Organizations, attended the Ceremony for Signing the Exchange of Notes Concerning the Grant Assistance under “the Project for Strengthening Cross-border Cooperation to Combat Transnational Organized Crime related to Scam Operations in the Mekong Region” at the Residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Thailand.
 
The project, funded by the Government of Japan and supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), aims to scale up technological capabilities, establish guidelines for information sharing and investigative cooperation, and strengthen human resources development for law enforcement officers in order to support collective efforts to combat online scams in Thailand, the Lao PDR, Viet Nam, and Cambodia.
 
The Minister expressed appreciation to the Government of Japan and UNODC,
and reaffirmed Thailand’s continued commitment to enhance international cooperation to eradicate online scams in all its forms.
