On 24 March 2026, Ms. Jaithai Upakarnitikaset, Deputy Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, had a meeting with Mr. Brett Blackshaw, Senior Advisor for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, on the occasion of the latter’s visit to Thailand.

Both sides discussed enhancing Thailand - U.S. cooperation on combating online scams, which is an issue of common challenge and shared priority for both countries. They also discussed regional and global situations concerning online scams, including exchanging views on policies, challenges, and ongoing efforts against online scams. Both sides appreciated the increasing cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening partnership in this regard for the safety and benefit of the people.
