On 31 October 2024, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, chaired the consultation on assistance to vulnerable population along the Thailand – Myanmar border, through the strengthening of border health. The consultation was attended by various stakeholders, including government (health and security sectors), civil society organizations, academia, and International Organizations.

The consultation discussed ways to further enhance health security along the border, through monitoring, preventing, and treating communicable diseases in a timely and efficient manner. The meeting also discussed ways to promote access to healthcare, through developing necessary infrastructures and providing support and assistance in the area.
