On 14 November 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, held a discussion with H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Thailand.

The Ambassador expressed his condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. Both sides exchanged views on the dynamics of Thai - Russian bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of economy, investment and culture, as well as reviewed progress on pending agreements between the two countries. They also explored opportunities to further promote educational cooperation between Thai and Russian universities, particularly in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
