Director-General of European Affairs Department meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Thailand

On 8 January 2026, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Thailand, with residence in Hanoi. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Koranun Sukonritikorn, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Thailand.

Both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly the preparations for the 2nd Political Consultations to be held in Bangkok, which the Thai side expressed readiness to host. They also discussed the possibility to expedite the conclusion of bilateral agreements to promote economic cooperation, including the Air Services Agreement and the Agreement on visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports.

The Director-General also congratulated Belavia Airlines’ inaugural charter flights on the Minsk - Pattaya route on 9 January 2026 and the Minsk - Phuket route on 12 January 2026, noting their significance in promoting tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and economic cooperation. The Director-General also updated the Ambassador on the latest developments in the Thailand - Cambodia border situation.
