On 14 July 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, discussed a number of collaborative activities with Ms. Phasporn Sangasubana, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD).
Opportunities for collaboration between the Department and ACSDSD, include activities such as organizing events to build upon Thailand’s Voluntary National Review (VNR) 2025, which assesses Thailand’s progress in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to be presented to the United Nations on 21 July 2025 in New York. The two sides also discussed potential cooperation on awareness-raising activities related to the SDGs and advancing ASEAN cooperation in areas where Thailand can best share experiences with ASEAN partners.
The ACSDSD was established in 2019 by Thailand, as the ASEAN Chair and ASEAN Coordinator on Sustainable Development Cooperation, to advance SDG implementation in ASEAN through research and dialogue. Currently, the ACSDSD’s work focuses on a range of development issues, such as sustainable fisheries, waste management, as well as sustainable consumption and production, which have been promoted through various knowledge-sharing and reporting initiatives. The ACSDSD also hosts the ASEAN Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform —a collaborative initiative between ASEAN and the European Union to promote the circular economy agenda in the region.
