On 8 April 2026, Mrs. Hataya Khusakul, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Patricio Powell Osorio, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Thailand, who paid a farewell courtesy call upon the conclusion of his tenure.

The Director-General expressed appreciation to the Ambassador for his active role throughout his tenure in Thailand in promoting and advancing Thailand - Chile bilateral relations in a concrete manner across all areas, particularly in trade, economic cooperation, culture, science and astronomy, as well as people-to-people connectivity.

The Ambassador reaffirmed that Thailand - Chile relations have continued to develop positively in all dimensions and are well-positioned for further expansion of cooperation. Both sides agreed to build on this momentum to further enhance close cooperation in the years to come.
