On 27 August 2025, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, chaired a discussion with 30 representatives from Thai public and private agencies involved in Thailand’s Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) accession process. Also in attendance were representatives from the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) and the Office of the Council of State, which are key agencies, along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for Thailand’s OECD accession process.

The Director-General emphasized the role of the Ministry in supporting the efforts of the Thai agencies, particularly in the preparation of the Initial Memorandum and the Technical Review in the process of Thailand’s accession to the OECD. Representatives from various agencies exchanged their respective experiences and provided recommendations to advance Thailand’s accession process. In addition, the Director-General also hosted the “OECD Network: Meet the Focal Points” activity to strengthen linkages between Thai agencies and representatives from the Embassies of OECD member countries in Thailand.

All participants took part in the “Masterclass on Thailand’s OECD accession” course organized by Australia in June 2025.
