Director-General of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs Department meets with Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Thailand

On 11 May 2026, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed K. A. Al-Sada, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Thailand, on a courtesy call upon his assumption of duties.

Both sides noted with satisfaction the close and cordial ties between Thailand and Qatar and discussed ways to deepen cooperation in various areas, particularly in energy security, food security, and the expeditious finalisation of Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding currently under consideration by both sides. They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, as well as underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in de-escalating tensions and restoring peace at the earliest opportunity.
