On 23 April 2024, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, welcomed H.E. Mrs. Anna Hammargren, Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand, who paid a courtesy call on the occasion of the Director-General’s assumption of duty.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation especially exchange of high-level visits, trade and investment promotion, defence industry and green transition including green design and innovation. The Thai side also sought support for expediting the negotiations of the Thai-EU FTA, Thailand’s candidature for UNHRC membership for the term 2025-2027, Thailand’s application for OECD membership and negotiation for the waiver of Schengen visa for Thai ordinary passports. The two sides also exchanged views on international issues.
