Ambassador of Thailand Welcomed Director-General of Department of Consular Affairs and the Delegation from the Department during Their Visit to Qatar

On 13 April 2025, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, and spouse hosted a dinner in honour of H.E. Mr. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of Thailand, and his delegation, at the Ambassador’s residence. The visit took place on the occasion of the delegation’s participation in the ICAO Facilitation Conference 2025 on 14 – 17 April 2025 in Doha.

During the visit, on 15 April 2025, the Director-General and his delegation visited the Consular Section of the Royal Thai Embassy, which had relocated to its current premises in May 2024. The new premises include a designated consular area designed to enhance the Embassy’s service efficiency and capacity. The Royal Thai Embassy in Doha is among Thailand’s top overseas mission in terms of visa issuance, catering mainly to travelers from Qatar seeking tourism, wellness, and medical treatment in Thailand. Furthermore, the Embassy is one of the first embassies in the Middle East to implement the E-Visa system, which has been operational since March 2024.
