On 23 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mrs. Varaporn Phuangketkeow, his spouse, hosted a farewell dinner in honour of Ambassadors accredited to Thailand and their spouses upon the completion of their duty.

The Ambassadors attending the dinner were H.E. Mr. Felipe de la Morena Casado, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Thailand; H.E. Mr. Patrick Bourne, Ambassador of Ireland to Thailand; H.E. Mr. Patrick Hemmer, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Thailand; H.E. Mr. Pedro Zwahlen, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Thailand; H.E. Mr. Ernst Wolfgang Reichel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Thailand; H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, Ambassador of the French Republic to Thailand; and H.E. Ms. Rukhsana Afzaal, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Thailand.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his sincere appreciation to the seven Ambassadors for their tireless dedication and contributions to strengthening relations and cooperation between Thailand and their respective countries throughout their tenure. He also conveyed his best wishes for their future endeavours and reaffirmed that Thailand would warmly welcome them back as close friends of the country. On behalf of the departing Ambassadors, H.E. Mr. Felipe de la Morena Casado, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Thailand, expressed appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their support, cooperation, and assistance throughout their assignments in Thailand. He also spoke of the Ambassadors' fond memories of Thailand and the warm hospitality and friendship extended by the Thai people, which would remain with them long after the completion of their missions.
