On 7 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a farewell call from H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Thailand, upon the completion of the Ambassador’s tour of duty.

Both sides welcomed the dynamic development of Thailand - India relations, particularly the elevation of diplomatic relations to Strategic Partnership on 3 April 2025 during the Official Visit to Thailand of H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India. During the tenure of Ambassador Singh in Thailand, Thailand and India witnessed an increase in high-level exchanges, a 25 percent increase in trade volume from 2024, as well as expanded cooperation in defence, space, startups, public health, and people-to-people exchanges, which are crucial to the development of closer relations between the two countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed appreciation to Ambassador Singh for his dedication and contribution in advancing bilateral cooperation throughout his tenure in Thailand. He also reaffirmed his readiness to work closely with the Ambassador’s successor to further advance cooperation and promote the mutual benefit of the two countries and regions.
