On 24 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), and co-chaired the Third Meeting of the Consultation Mechanism between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the PRC, at the Ministry and in Krabi province.
The Deputy Prime Minister underscored the long-standing relations over the past 50 years, as both sides confirmed their commitment to strengthen the Thailand - China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and to move towards a Community with a Shared Future for Enhanced Stability, Prosperity and Sustainability. Both sides agreed to play active roles in promoting peace, stability and regional development amidst today's rapidly evolving global situation. In addition, both sides agreed to draft the next Joint Action Plan On Thailand - China Strategic Cooperation, focusing on cooperation areas that reflect the country’s preparation for the future, such as technology, innovation, electric vehicles, related human resource development, green transition and renewable energy.
Both sides also exchanged views to advance strategic cooperation on bilateral and regional issues, as well as multilateral cooperation in various dimensions. These include joint efforts in addressing transboundary challenges, especially water management, air pollution and transnational crimes.
