On 29 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a working lunch for H.E. Mr. Liu Zhenmin, China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change and former Vice Foreign Minister, during the latter’s visit to Thailand to attend the Global Conference on Strengthening Synergies between the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Bangkok.

Both sides commended the dynamism of the Thailand - China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. They also held discussions on regional issues, including the Thailand - Cambodia situation, during which the Chinese side expressed support for both sides to pursue a peaceful resolution through bilateral dialogue. They underscored the importance of fostering cooperation and enhancing the constuctive roles of Thailand and China in multilateral frameworks, including the Mekong - Lancang Cooperation, ASEAN, as well as the various mechanisms under the United Nations, particularly in addressing climate change, advancing green energy transition, and promoting sustainable development. The cooperation will benefit the peoples of Thailand and China, as well as contribute to regional and global stability and prosperity.
