On 18 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, in meeting with representatives of the Australian business sector during the official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia in Sydney.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister attended the Thailand – Australia Investment and Business Partnership Reception, where the Prime Minister delivered the opening remarks, reaffirming Thailand’s commitment to continue fostering a resilient economic environment conducive to trade and investment, as well as highlighted Thailand and Australia’s longtime economic partnership. The Prime Minister also underscored Thailand’s readiness to expand economic cooperation with Australia, especially in the areas of agriculture, renewable energy, digital and creative industries, advanced manufacturing, and education.
 
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister participated in meeting with executives of Canva Pty. Ltd. to explore opportunities for cooperation in research, development, and innovation, as well as to deepen economic cooperation and promote investment in Thailand.
