Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs joins the Prime Minister in meeting with the Governor of New South Wales

On 18 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, in meeting with H.E. the Honourable Margaret Beazly AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, during the official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia in Sydney.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister participated in the discussion, as the Prime Minister remarked that this was the first official prime ministerial visit in 14 years, underscoring that it provided an important opportunity for both sides to deepen and broaden the Thailand – Australia partnership. He commended Australia’s close and active engagement with Thailand, the Mekong subregion, and ASEAN, as well as both sides’ strong partnership in addressing transnational crime. Both sides also discussed expanding cooperation in trade and investment, education, tourism exchanges, and future-oriented sectors, such as the digital economy, AI, clean energy, AgriTech, and food innovation.
