On 19 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, in meeting with H.E. the Honourable Angus Taylor MP, Leader of the Liberal Party of Australia and Leader of the Opposition, during the official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia in Canberra.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister joined in the discussion, where the Prime Minister underscored the importance of maintaining constructive dialogue between political parties and governments to ensure that their partnership remains resilient and sustainable. Both sides also exchanged views on strengthening Thailand - Australia cooperation in various areas, including the economy, particularly in future-oriented sectors, trade and investment, combating transnational crime, and people-to-people ties, while expressing appreciation for the close engagement of the Thailand - Australia Parliamentarians Friendship Group.
