On 19 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Senator the Honourable Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, during the official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia of H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, in Canberra.
Both sides discussed ways to further expand cooperation, especially in the exchanges of high-level visits and strengthening of regional and global security, as well as exchanged views on key regional developments of mutual interest, including the situation in Myanmar and the Thailand – Cambodia situation. The Deputy Prime Minister underscored Thailand’s dual-track approach and support for the peace process in Myanmar and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to gradually rebuilding trust and confidence through good faith dialogue with Cambodia.
