H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has been assigned by the Prime Minister to lead the Thai delegation to the 18^th BRICS Leaders’ Summit, to be held from 12 – 13 September 2026 in New Delhi, Republic of India, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, in his capacity as Chair of BRICS for 2026.

The Summit will be held under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”. The Summit will seek to strengthen cooperation among BRICS member and partner countries amid global volatility, covering food security, innovation, responses to cybercrime, and sustainable development, as well as approaches to reforming global governance and the multilateral system to make it more inclusive and responsive to current global realities.

On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to deliver a statement under the topic “Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability: Shaping the Future for Inclusive Global Growth”, showcasing Thailand’s constructive role on the international stage and reaffirming Thailand’s readiness to serve as a bridge between BRICS and ASEAN. During the Summit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers and senior representatives of several countries, with a view to strengthening relations and promoting cooperation in areas of mutual benefit.

BRICS is a cooperation framework of developing countries from various regions around the world. It currently comprises 10 member countries and 10 partner countries. Thailand became a partner country of BRICS in January 2025. This year, 2026, marks the 20^th anniversary of the establishment of BRICS.
