On 23 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a working lunch in honor of H.E. Mr. Bendito dos Santos Freitas, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

Both sides welcomed the close friendship between Thailand and Timor-Leste and agreed to enhance economic cooperation. Thailand expressed readiness to expand development cooperation in various fields, particularly human resource development in Timor-Leste, which is important for the country’s development and participation in ASEAN activities. Timor-Leste also welcomed Thai private sector investment in various sectors, including services, tourism, and infrastructure.
