On 21 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, gave a welcoming speech in the seminar entitled “Thailand and Germany: Perspectives and Opportunities in the Indo-Pacific” co-organized by Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) in Berlin, Germany.

DPM/FM highlighted the importance of Indo-Pacific region for both Thailand and Germany, who are natural partners in the region and share the vision of a stable, safe, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. He also noted the opportunities and challenges for both countries as well as potential areas of cooperation on the bilateral level in which both are aiming to establish a strategic partnership with each other, as well as on the multilateral level through regional frameworks, such as ASEAN, ACMECS, BIMSTEC, and ACD.

On this occasion, DPM/FM also met with Mrs. Petra Sigmund, Director-General of Asia-Pacific Department of Federal Foreign Office of Germany and Mr. Gunther Krichbaum, Member of Parliament from CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group, as well as other representatives from the German public, academic sector and civil society. He reiterated Thailand’s readiness to promote cooperation with Germany both bilaterally and through regional frameworks such as ASEAN, as well as highlighted the importance of Indo-Pacific for both countries.
