On 4 June 2026, Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had discussions with a delegation from the National Defence College of India, led by Major General Awinder Pal Singh Bal, Senior Directing Staff, during the delegation’s visit to Thailand.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary gave a briefing on Thailand’s foreign policy and an overview of Thailand - India relations, underpinned by long-standing and close civilizational and cultural ties, which have led to the expansion of bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas, politics, trade and investment, security and defence, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and cooperation in multilateral frameworks. Both sides exchanged views on the global geopolitical landscape and key developments in the region.
