On 29 October 2026, Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Puneet Agrawal, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Thailand, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty.

Both sides discussed ways to further advance the Thailand - India Strategic Partnership including through exchanges of high-level visits, and the promotion of trade and investment in areas with strong potential, particularly science, technology and innovation (STI), and digital technology. They also discussed preparations for commemorative activities marking the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and India in 2027.
