On 1 August 2025, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with Mr. Mohammed Abdiker, Chief of Staff to the Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), upon the latter’s visit to Thailand.

Both sides discussed cooperation between Thailand and IOM, particularly on assistance for migrants, as well as the trend of decreasing humanitarian funding and its impact. The IOM representative expressed appreciation to Thailand for taking care of different groups of migrants and reaffirmed its readiness to continue to support Thailand in this regard.
