On 7 November 2025, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin, Ambassador of Russia to Thailand.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation within the multilateral frameworks, including the commemoration for the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN - Russia relations in 2026, Thailand’s participation as a BRICS partner country, and cooperation within the United Nations frameworks as well as other international forums, such as the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), where Russia is keen to play an active role through cooperation on sports and culture.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary also stressed Thailand’s commitment to combatting cybercrime and online scams, whereby Thailand plans to host an international conference against online scams later this year.
