On 23 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 16th East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.

The Deputy Prime Minister discussed ways to strengthen the EAS in response to regional challenges, underscoring the role of the EAS as a forum for dialogue on strategic issues and the promotion of ASEAN centrality in the evolving regional architecture. He also put forward proposals to ensure that the EAS remains relevant in promoting peace and stability, including through preventive diplomacy, amidst the rapidly evolving landscape, while exchanging views on regional and international developments.
