On 29 April 2025, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, co-chaired the 7th Thailand-Egypt Political Consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Both sides expressed appreciation for the cordial relations between Thailand and Egypt, which have spanned over 70 years. They reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in all areas, particularly trade and investment and agreed to explore avenues for formalising agreements in mutually prioritised sectors. In addition, both sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
