Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and members of the Thailand Candidature Committee team continued their campaign for the Specialised Expo 2028 Phuket, Thailand during 25 – 28 April 2023 in New York. The team included Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), and Mr. Bhummikitti Ruktaengam, Advisory Chairman of the Phuket Tourist Association.

Thailand is bidding to host the Expo 2028 in Phuket under the theme “Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity”. The Expo 2028 focuses on sustainability, in particular innovation and collaboration to overcome common challenges through the three pillars of People, Planet, and Prosperity. The Expo will transform Phuket and the region as well as the people’s mindset towards a more sustainable way of life and development. The elections will take place on 20-21 June 2023 during the General Assembly of the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) in Paris.
