On 28 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a farewell call from H.E. Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Thailand on the occasion of the completion of his tenure.

Both sides expressed appreciation to the tangible progress in all aspects of Thailand - China relations and noted regular exchanges of high-level visits, particularly during this year’s celebration of the Golden Jubilee marking 50 years of bilateral diplomatic relations. They also welcomed developments in the close cooperation between the two sides in economic areas, culture and people-to-people exchanges, which have significantly contributed to the development of both nations and the region.

The Foreign Minister took this opportunity to express sincere appreciation to Ambassador Han for his active role and outstanding contribution to advancing bilateral cooperation throughout his tenure. The Foreign Minister also reaffirmed that Thailand will continue to work closely with his successor to further strengthen the bilateral partnership and promote mutual benefits for peace, stablity and prosperity of the region and beyond.
