On 26 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, represented the Prime Minister at the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with the ASEAN - Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and other related meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Meeting discussed future directions for cooperation amidst global economic challenges and uncertainties. Thailand highlighted the importance of closer cooperation between the public sector and the private sector to encourage a more proactive role of the private sector in diversifying business risks, exploring new partners and markets, as well as adopting innovative technologies to ensure long-term and sustainable growth. Thailand also reiterated her commitment to working with all ASEAN Member States to promote intra-ASEAN trade, connectivity, sustainability, and digital transformation —especially by expediting the conclusion of ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) at the earliest.
