Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits

On 27 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral discussion with H.E. Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for the longstanding and close relations between Thailand and Viet Nam, which were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) this year. Both sides discussed ways to advance the CSP through strategic dialogue and by promoting close cooperation in all dimensions, as well as agreed to expedite the development of a strategic action plan to translate the CSP into concrete outcomes, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and connectivity.

In addition, both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening the Thailand – Viet Nam partnership to advance cooperation in the Mekong subregion. They also exchanged views on regional and global developments, including the Myanmar situation and the Thailand – Cambodia situation.
