On 10 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

Both sides exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and ICESCO in the areas of education, artificial intelligence, culture, and youth development, particularly through the organization of activities under the ICESCO framework in Thailand. They also discussed the proposal to nominate a Thai city as the Islamic World’s Capital of Culture. Thailand’s role in ICESCO will contribute to promoting the country’s image as a multicultural society in advancing educational development and to highlight the Thai identity.

The Foreign Minister commended ICESCO for its role in broadening youth perspectives and promoting intercultural understanding, while reaffirming Thailand’s readiness to cooperate with ICESCO by joining hands with the relevant authorities.
