On 26 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Rachmat Budiman, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Thailand, upon the completion of the latter’s tenure.

The Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for the latter’s significant role in advancing Thailand - Indonesia relations, especially as the two countries celebrated their 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year. H.E. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, paid an official visit to Thailand in May 2025, during which both countries announced the elevation of Thailand and Indonesia’s relations to a Strategic Partnership.

Both sides also discussed cooperation in various important aspects, such as combatting online scams, enhancing trade and investment, wildlife conservation, and cooperation in addressing regional issues under the ASEAN frameworks. The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Indonesia in all aspects, in their capacity as Strategic Partners, for the development of the region and the benefits of the people of both countries.
