Minister of Foreign Affairs holds a bilateral meeting with Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines during ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat

On 28 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a bilateral meeting with Ms. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, on the sideline of ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat in Cebu, the Philippines.

Both sides agreed to promote high level visits this year and enhance economic cooperation such as food security and support for Thai private sector in the Philippines. Both sides will increase ASEAN’s effort to combat online scams, which are common threat to all member countries.

Both sides also exchanged views on the regional issues such as Thailand - Cambodia border situation, developments in Myanmar after the elections, and the South China Sea.
