On 22 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan during the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2025 (HLPF) at the United Nations Headquarters.

Both sides reaffirmed the close relationship between the two countries built on high-level and people-to-people exchanges, and agreed to enhance cooperation in tourism, trade, energy, green transition, and defence industries. Both sides recognized the potential of strengthening connectivity through Ranong Port of Thailand and Gwadar Port of Pakistan, leveraging the strategic locations of both countries.  The Thai side also emphasized the importance of promoting human security, which also encompasses cooperation on the development of vaccines for tropical diseases.

The Thai side commended Pakistan's Presidency of the United Nations Security Council for July 2025 and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s cooperation within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) framework.  Foreign Minister Maris also took this opportunity to invite his Pakistan counterpart to attend the 21st Ministerial Meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), which Thailand will host in September 2025.
