Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed with Foreign Minister of Australia via video conference on promotion of Thai-Australia Strategic Partnership, including vaccine procurement, and Australia's proposal to elevate the ASEAN-Australia relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as well as the recent ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting.

On 26 April 2021 H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs exchanged views with H.E. Senator the Honorable Marise Payne, Foreign Minister of Australia, via video conference, on Thai-Australia relations. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed appreciation to the Australian side for organising the premier viewing of the documentary on His Majesty the King’s Time in Australia at the Australian Ambassador’s Residence on 15 February 2021.

The two sides also discussed issues of mutual interest and way to enhance cooperation in key areas such as public health, education and digital economy as well as vaccine procurement that could be implemented under the Joint Plan of Action on the Strategic Partnership between Thailand and Australia.

They also exchanged views on regional development including the recent ASEAN Leader's Meeting on Myanmar as well as Australia’s proposal to elevate the ASEAN-Australia relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and Thailand’s plan to promote cooperation in Bio-Circular-Green  (BCG) Economy during its hosting of APEC in 2022.
