Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets with Ambassador of the United States of America to Thailand upon the Completion of Duty

On 27 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with the Honorable Robert F. Godec, Ambassador of the United States of America to Thailand, upon the completion of his tour of duty in Thailand.

The U.S. Ambassador expressed his thanks to the Foreign Minister and the Ministry for the support and cooperation during his tenure in Thailand to further strengthen Thailand - U.S. relations. Significant progress has been made in the bilateral relations, such as in the areas of security and economic cooperation, including the recent resumption of direct flights between Bangkok and Los Angeles. The Foreign Minister commended the U.S. Ambassador’s proactive and constructive role in promoting and advancing Thailand - U.S. cooperation, which has seen continued progress under his tenure.

Both sides underscored the importance of the longstanding and close alliance between Thailand and the U.S., with Thailand being the U.S.’s oldest treaty ally in Asia and the strategic partnership between the two countries having long benefited the region. They also discussed cooperation in various areas, including combating online scams and trade relations. In addition, both sides exchanged views on the situation along the Thailand - Cambodia border and recent developments in Myanmar.

On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs also hosted a farewell luncheon in honor of the U.S. Ambassador.
