On 30 May 2024, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, received a courtesy call from Mr. Benoît Guidée, Director for Asia and Oceania, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, during his visit to Thailand to participate on a culture networking meeting with representatives from French Embassies in ASEAN countries.

Both sides discussed bilateral cooperation, including the follow-up on the outcomes of Prime Minister’s earlier visits to France, the preparations of the 5th Thai-French Political Consultations, with the French side hosting in September 2024 and the 2nd Thailand-France Business Forum. They also set the direction for the Action Plan to elevate Thai-French relations to a Strategic Partnership and the preparations for events to commemmorate the 340th anniversary of the first contact between Siam and France next year.
