On 4 February 2026, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, chaired a preparatory meeting for Thai agencies that will attend the upcoming Global Fraud Summit. At the meeting, representatives from government agencies working in various dimensions of combatting fraud exchanged information and discussed Thailand’s position in preparation for the Summit.
The 2nd Global Fraud Summit will be held on 16 - 17 March 2026 in Vienna, and is jointly organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), with support from the British Government. The Summit aims to galvanize the political will of governments, international organizations, and the private sector to combat fraud, as well as to strengthen international cooperation on law enforcement and foster effective multi-stakeholder coordination to address and combat fraud at the global level.
Taking part in this Global Fraud Summit will reaffirm Thailand’s commitment to the fight against fraud and online scams, as well as build on the outcomes of the International Conference on the Global Partnership against Online Scams held on 17 - 18 December 2025 in Bangkok, which Thailand co-organized with UNODC.
