On 29 April 2025, H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the High-Level Conference of Middle-Income Countries (HLC-MICs) in Manila, the Philippines, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which was co-hosted by the Government of the Philippines and UN development agencies. Also attendance were representatives from the Department of International Economic Affairs, TICA, and NESDC.

Thailand emphasized the importance of working towards a new engine of economic growth by (1) undertaking structural reforms, diversifying trade and investment, and deepening regional economic integration; (2) underscoring the urgent need for investment in infrastructure and strengthening future industry ecosystems as well as human capital development; and (3) calling for access to concessional finance and reform towards a more inclusive and equitable international financial architecture that works for all countries.

HLC - MICs is an international platform where Middle-Income Countries (MICs) make a joint call to the international community to respond to the multidimensional challenges that MICs face, hampering their attempt to achieve sustainable development, and urge for increased financing for development from the private sector.
