On 29 July 2022, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs, during his visit to Thailand to attend the 2nd Edition of North East India Festival 2022.

Both sides are pleased with the close and cordial ties as Thailand and India are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2022 and expressed readiness to organise commemorative activities to raise awareness among the general public throughout the year.

In addition, both sides stressed the importance of promoting cooperation between Thailand and the North Eastern Region (NER) of India, which shared historical and cultural ties and goodwill toward each other and possessed strong potential for future development. To this end, both sides agreed to push forward practical cooperation in potential areas, such as economic, cultural, tourism, education, and developmental cooperation, and people to people exchanges.
