On 3 March 2023 H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s assumption of duty.

Both sides discussed ways and means to elevate bilateral relations between Thailand and India to a Strategic Partnership and to promote cooperation in various areas, particularly trade and investment, education, cultural, tourism, people-to-people exchange, and development cooperation in the North Eastern Region of India (NER).

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also reiterated the invitation extended by the Prime Minister of Thailand to H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, for an official visit to Thailand and the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Thailand this year.
