On 5 - 6 March 2026, women executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in activities celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 through the “Ambassador for a Day” program, comprising Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations; Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs; and Ms. Hattaya Khusakul, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs. They were shadowed by Ms. Nicha Booncharoen, Ms. Kanyaporn Chanpongsang, and Ms. Korapath Deesiri, respectively.

Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, delivered a statement at the Asia-Pacific Regional Celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok on 6 March 2026. She underscored the important role of youth in championing gender equality while reaffirming Thailand’s commitment to promoting equality before the law and ensuring access to justice for all women and girls. Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs; Ms. Hattaya Khusakul, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs; and Ms. Cataleya Phatoomros, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, attended a reception hosted by the Ambassador of Peru to Thailand on 5 December 2026, to launch the 2026 Ambassador for a Day program at the Residence of the Ambassador of Australia to Thailand.

The “Ambassador for a Day 2026” program was held in celebration of International Women’s Day (8 March). The program was organized by the Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand and the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand, with the participation of 15 embassies, 10 United Nations entities, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the role of women in diplomacy and provide youth with opportunities to gain first-hand experience in diplomatic work by shadowing women ambassadors and women executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for one day.
