From January 11 to 19, 2025, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, embarked on a heartfelt mission to support 14 prominent Thai temples across eastern India, working closely alongside the Thai Monastery Bodhgaya. As part of Thailand's Buddhist Diplomacy, the Royal Thai Consulate-General donated Dell computers, HP printers, web cameras, and speakers to enhance digital record-keeping, communication, and educational initiatives within these revered temples. This effort also enables the temples to better assist the Consulate in supporting over 80,000 Thai pilgrims visiting India each year.

The Consul-General underscored the vital role technology plays in preserving Buddhist teachings and strengthening the ties between Thailand and India. To ensure the effective use of these tools, a special orientation session was held to train the monks and nuns.

This initiative is a testament to the Consulate’s dedication to supporting Buddhism and fostering deeper connections between the two nations. The monks and nuns expressed gratitude, knowing that these contributions will significantly enhance their temple operations and community service.
