Ambassador presided over the Opening Ceremony of the TSAM Assembly 2025, and addressed to Thai Students in Malaysia (1)

On 11 January 2025, Thailand’s Children Day, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Thai Students’ Association in Malaysia (TSAM) Assembly 2025 at IWK Eco Park, Kuala Lumpur, whereby officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Kaula Lumpur and Team Thailand in Malaysia, representatives from the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, and lecturers from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) were also present. The event was well attended by over 130 Thai students across Malaysia.

In her address to the Thai students, the Ambassador emphasised the importance of seizing opportunities from the TSAM Assembly 2025 and various activities to be organised by the Royal Thai Embassy throughout the year to learn and exchange on social skills, sportsmanship, leadership, responsibility, and moral value, while exploring new opportunities to make a positive impact for their families and communities.

The Ambassador also announced the establishment of the “Centre for Thai Students in Malaysia” for the first time under the Embassy’s responsibility, aimed at proving guidance and advice on education in Malaysia, supporting the students’ welfare, and developing the database of Thai students in Malaysia. On this occasion, the Ambassador sought continued support from the EMGS in facilitating university and visa application processes for Thai students in Malaysia.
