On 9 February 2026, Mrs. Maratee Nalita Andamo, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information, participated as a panelist in a special seminar entitled “Lessons Learned from the Thailand–Cambodia Situation toward Future Capacity-Building of the Royal Thai Armed Forces,” alongside academics, representatives of the armed forces, and the National Security Council. The seminar was organized by the National Defence Studies Institute and chaired by General Ukrit Boontanont, Chief of Defence Forces. The seminar was attended by more than 400 participants, including senior commanders, students of the Joint War College and officer cadets of the National Defence Studies Institute.

The seminar served as a platform for the exchange of perspectives among academia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and military practitioners, with a view to drawing lessons from recent crisis management to enhance the capacity of Thai agencies to address future security threats.

On this occasion, the Deputy Director-General presented the important role of diplomacy in the context of the Thailand–Cambodia situation and underscored the importance of shared understanding and close coordination between the relevant agencies, such as the armed forces and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including in adhering to international principles and law. This approach ensures diplomatic actions are grounded in facts and legitimacy, both internationally and domestically.
